Ingredients
1 large egg, lightly beaten1/3 cup seasoned bread crumbs3 garlic cloves, minced1 teaspoon dried oregano1 teaspoon dried basil1/4 teaspoon salt1/4 teaspoon dried thyme1-1/2 pounds lean ground beef (90% lean)1/2 pound Italian turkey sausage links, casings removed3/4 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese8 kaiser rolls, split1 cup roasted garlic Parmesan spaghetti sauce, warmed
Preparation
In a large bowl, combine the first 7 ingredients. Crumble beef and sausage over mixture and mix well. Shape into 8 burgers.
On a lightly oiled rack, grill burgers, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from the heat for 5-7 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 165° and juices run clear.
Sprinkle burgers with cheese; cook 2-3 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Remove and keep warm.
Grill or broil rolls for 1-2 minutes or until toasted. Serve burgers on rolls with spaghetti sauce.
