Ingredients
2 large egg whites2/3 cup fat-free evaporated milk1 cup shredded reduced-fat cheddar cheese1/2 cup dry bread crumbs1/4 cup chopped onion1 teaspoon prepared mustard1/4 teaspoon salt1/8 teaspoon pepper1-1/2 pounds lean ground beef (90% lean)8 multigrain hamburger buns, split8 lettuce leaves8 tomato slices
Preparation
In a large bowl, combine the first eight ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into eight patties.
Using long-handled tongs, moisten a paper towel with cooking oil and lightly coat the grill rack. Grill burgers, uncovered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from the heat for 5-6 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 160° and juices run clear. Serve on buns with lettuce and tomato.
