Ingredients

1/2 cup shredded smoked Gouda cheese4 teaspoons mayonnaise1 tablespoon thinly sliced green onion1/4 teaspoon garlic powder1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper4 slices whole wheat bread, toasted2 teaspoons butter, softenedRomaine leaves4 slices tomato4 ounces sliced deli smoked turkey1/2 medium ripe avocado

Preparation

Mix first 5 ingredients. Spread 2 slices of toast with butter, then with cheese mixture. Layer with lettuce, tomato and turkey.

Peel and mash avocado. Spread over remaining slices of toast and place over turkey.
