Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour2 teaspoons baking powder1/2 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon grated orange zest1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon1/4 cup shortening1/4 cup cold butter3/4 cup 2% milk1/4 cup orange juice1 cup dried cranberries1/2 cup white baking chipsDRIZZLE:1-1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar2 tablespoons orange juice1/4 teaspoon orange extract

Preparation

In a large bowl, combine the first five ingredients. Cut in shortening and butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk and orange juice just until moistened. Stir in cranberries and baking chips.

Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead gently 8-10 times. Pat or roll out to 3/4-in. thickness; cut with a floured 2-1/2-in. biscuit cutter.

Place 2 in. apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 400° for 12-16 minutes or until lightly browned. In a small bowl, combine the confectioners’ sugar, orange juice and extract; drizzle over biscuits. Serve warm.
