Ingredients

4 ounces unsweetened chocolate1 cup butter2 cups sugar1 cup all-purpose flour1/4 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon vanilla extract3 large eggs, lightly beatenFILLING:3 cups sweetened shredded coconut1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk1 teaspoon vanilla extract1/2 teaspoon almond extractTOPPING:1 cup semisweet chocolate chips1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Preparation

In a microwave, melt chocolate and butter; stir until smooth. Cool slightly. Stir in the sugar, flour, salt, vanilla and eggs. Spread half of the batter into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan.

In a large bowl, combine the filling ingredients. Spoon over chocolate layer. Carefully spread remaining chocolate mixture over filling.

Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until the sides pull away from the pan. Immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Allow chips to soften for a few minutes, then spread evenly over filling. Sprinkle with walnuts. Cool completely before cutting.
