Ingredients

CAKE:1-1/2 cups sugar2 cups all-purpose flour2 large eggs1 teaspoon vanilla extract2 tablespoons lemon juice2 teaspoons baking soda3/4 teaspoon salt1 can (16 ounces) fruit cocktail with syrupTOPPING:1/2 cup packed brown sugar1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconutSAUCE:1/4 cup evaporated milk3/4 cup sugar1 teaspoon vanilla extract1/2 cup butter, cubed1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Preparation

In a large bowl, combine all cake ingredients; mix well. Pour into a 13x9-in. pan and sprinkle with topping ingredients. Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes. Meanwhile, combine all sauce ingredients in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. When cake is done and still warm, pour sauce over cake. Cool to room temperature.
