Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened1-1/2 cups sugar2 eggs2 teaspoons vanilla extract2 cups all-purpose flour2/3 cup baking cocoa3/4 teaspoon baking soda1/4 teaspoon salt1 package (10 to 12 ounces) vanilla or white chips1/2 cup chopped pecans, optional
Preparation
In a bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in chips and pecans if desired.
Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes or until set. Remove to wire racks to cool.
