2 pounds ground beef1 large onion, chopped1-1/4 cups ketchup1/2 cup water1 tablespoon brown sugar1 tablespoon white vinegar1/2 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon ground mustard1/2 teaspoon chili powder1/4 teaspoon ground allspice8 sandwich buns, split
Preparation
In a Dutch oven, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the ketchup, water, brown sugar, vinegar, salt, mustard, chili powder and allspice. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until heated through, 35-40 minutes.
Spoon about 1/2 cup meat mixture onto each bun.
