Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened1 cup sugar1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar1 teaspoon vanilla extract1 large egg, room temperature1/3 cup baking cocoa2 tablespoons whole milk1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour1/4 teaspoon baking powder1 cup chopped walnuts1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350°. Cream butter, sugars and vanilla. Beat in egg. Add cocoa and milk. Whisk together flour and baking powder; fold into creamed mixture with walnuts and chocolate chips. Refrigerate 30 minutes.

Roll rounded tablespoonfuls of dough into balls; place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake until set, 10-12 minutes. Cool 5 minutes on pans before removing to wire racks to cool completely.
